Bio

Alberto Simeone is an architect and yacht designer.

A sailor since he was a child, he has always lived the world of yachting, and practiced competitive sailing in the Olympic, one-design classes and in offshore boats.

Graduated in architecture in Naples in 1993, he acquired the basics of yacht design at his father Mino’s studio and shipyard, designer and builder of a series of cruisers and racers in the 70s and 80s.

In 2002 he founded the Mylius Yachts Shipyard where he covered the the role of Technical Staff Director, signing the entire production and managing all the design and building process from conception to design and realization.

His yacht production is focused on high-tech fast cruiser racers, proposing a yacht concept that combines innovative design with performance and comfort.

The result is an unmistakable style, characterized by elegant and absolutely original external lines in the design of volumes and spaces, contemporary and at the same time evocative in the interiors, up-to-date in the choice of technological solutions.

In 2020, once his shares in Mylius Yacht have been sold, in the meanwhile maintaining the role of technical support for shipyard’s product lines design, he relaunches his yacht design and engineering activity, with his staff – Alberto Simeone YD&E – and opens up to outside clients

Realize the owner’s vision of his/her ideal yacht. This is my goal when we sit at the table and begin discussing his/her needs and desires.

Together, we embark on a journey where we combine his navigation needs, desires for a comfortable cruise, ambitions for racing, and personal tastes, all aimed at finding a unique solution that balances performance, comfort, and aesthetics

The boat must be modeled in space. But first, I study everything that has been done before. I don’t believe in strokes of genius; rather, I believe in research, observation, intuition, and marine experience.

What ultimately leads to a complete and harmonious result is the careful oversight of the project from start to finish, with meticulous work at every stage aimed at ensuring balance among all elements.

Alberto Simeone YD&E, thanks to the great experience achieved in the last 20 years, with more than 50 custom and semi custom yachts designed and launched, is able to drive and develop the whole design process, starting from the concept coming up to the constructive drawings and details.

The design process is developed by coordinating all the technical aspects, and also by counting on partnerships with the most ranked nautical professionals and specialists.

Starting from the Owner’s initial brief, the main characteristics of the Yacht are first outlined in the the General Concept, by the intriors and exteriors layouts.

Going through in-depth phases, all aspects relating to the various areas of competence of design are progressively developed: Structures and On board- systems, with strength and performance requirements assessment, and the weight evaluation• naval Architecture and Performance previsions, Ergonomics, Functionality and Liveability

The final solution, target point in which Design, Engineering and Performance coexist, is the result of the reiterative verification process, in which each choice is extensively validated in the previous stages and shared with the owner.

The 3D models the 2D construction drawings, the detailed Technical Specifications are the project output allowing the related economic evaluation as well.
